GRADUATION ACTIVITIES 2010Wednesday, June 2nd – Seniors are to pick up their check-out slips in front of the main office. These slips will show each student what they owe in fees, etc., in order to graduate. Throughout the day, as students attend each class, they need to have their teachers sign the check-out slip, regarding their textbooks, and any other materials they need to have turned in to that class. Thursday, June 3rd - Senior check-out day – 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. Please be ON TIME so we can get Baccalaureate practice started in a timely manner – hopefully by 9:30. We’ll be finished by 11:00, then reconvene after lunch out on Amotan Field to have a casual graduation practice. When we say casual, that just means the student don’t have to wear caps and gowns, but they do HAVE TO BE THERE!! This is when walk-in order will be determined, and where they’re sitting and in what order their names will be called. Friday, June 4th – Graduation practice – FULL DRESS rehearsal (caps and gowns) - begins at 9:00 a.m. on Amotan Field. Parents are welcome and encouraged to come and photograph during the practice. Chere Jones from Tom Jones Photography will be here after rehearsal to take a large group photo out on the front steps at 11:30 a.m. 8”x14” copies will be available to everyone for $14. When dress rehearsal is over – hopefully by about noon – the ASB sponsors a Senior Picnic/Barbecue for all graduating seniors. Saturday, June 5th – the BIG DAY!!! Graduation begins promptly at 11:00 a.m., so seniors need to be here at school by 10:00 a.m. in Senior Hall – dressed in their caps and gowns. Please do not adorn gowns with any extra cords or ribbons. Those who have earned honors need to be recognized by such. Suitable clothing needs to be worn under robes, and this will be checked. Caps can only be decorated on the top only. Anything hanging down, other than tassel, will be removed. Wally Kemp Grad Photos will be taking pictures of each graduate as they walk across the stage. These pictures will be available to you, and you should be getting a separate mailing about availability and prices. According to the Senior Parent/Graduation Party committee, the buses will be leaving for the Drug and Alcohol Free Party at 5:00 p.m. Information about the party and the rules and conditions are outlined in the letter from the parent committee.
